“The Tribe” as they are collectively known.  Mum, Treacle, and four of her offspring: Kali, Asha, Duma and Dusha who still think and behave as if they are puppies.  Their names were inspired by a chance meeting on a train with a lovely South African lady who had a Black Labrador called Duma, which means Black Thunder in Swahili.   This led to the other names – Kali is the Hindu Goddess symbolic of Motherly Love, Asha is a Swahili name derived from Aisha, meaning Life and Dusha is Russian, meaning either Soul, Spirit or Heart.
Each of their very different personalities shine out in this portrait, Sarah has captured them so perfectly.
